A house that keeps its own pace
Casa Palmeras is a Spanish design house, designed and lived in by a Spaniard who brought his own eye to every arch, tile and lantern.
It is a four-bedroom house for eight to ten guests, built around an open courtyard with arched verandas, carved jali screens and lantern light after dark.
Outside, a wide lawn runs down to the pool, with coconut palms and paddy fields beyond. Indoors, one convertible table turns into snooker, pool or table tennis, and shelves of books and nostalgic video cassettes wait for slow afternoons.
